“Hi. My name is Kelly Jorgenson, and I am the Director of Human Resources at Jessup Manufacturing Company in McHenry, IL. I joined Jessup 9 years ago after leaving another McHenry County manufacturing company where I worked for 17 years.
When I received my BS in Business/HR Management many moons ago, I started out my career in the hospitality industry. I loved it and thought I would stay in that industry my entire career. However, fast forward to the year 2000 when I moved to Illinois and found myself working as an HR Manager in manufacturing. I had no idea how rewarding it would be to serve an industry that actually makes things… in the USA, no less! Whether it was metal products or plastics and adhesives, I found it very rewarding.
Employing skilled and unskilled workers who enjoy coming to work everyday and seeing their hard work become a product that is shipped all over the world is amazing. It’s great for them to see how their daily contributions are used worldwide. Jessup makes the world a safer place to work and play and that is because of our dedicated local talent.
Since joining the Consortium, I have had an opportunity to network with hundreds of other local manufacturers who experience the same things that I do. Networking in this space has helped me to grow personally and professionally as a leader. I feel very blessed to be involved in manufacturing in McHenry County, as well as a member of the Consortium."
